Terms of Service

1. Who may use this site

You must be at least 18 years old to submit an application, register, or purchase a sponsorship on your own behalf. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must do so for you and is responsible for your compliance with these terms.

2. Accurate information

You agree that everything you submit is true, current, and complete — including your identity, your amateur status, your playing record, and the exemption category you claim. We verify exemption claims. Information that is false, misleading, or materially incomplete may result in an application being rejected, an entry being withdrawn, a result being voided, or future eligibility being affected, at the Tournament's discretion.

3. Applications are not entries

Submitting an application does not enter you in the tournament and does not guarantee an invitation. Applications are reviewed by the selection committee, and the field is chosen at the committee's sole discretion. The number of invitations is limited and may change from year to year. The committee's decisions are final and are not appealable.

5. Fees

Entry fees, qualifier registration fees, and sponsorship prices are shown on this site and at checkout, and are set each year. All amounts are in U.S. dollars. Payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's own terms.

6. Withdrawals and refunds

Each year we publish a no-penalty withdrawal date and a no-refund date. Those dates control:

  • Withdraw on or before the no-penalty date, and your fee is refunded less a processing fee.
  • Withdraw on or after the no-refund date, and no refund is due.
  • Withdrawals between those dates are handled according to the policy published for that year.

To withdraw, notify the Tournament Director. Refunds are issued by us to the original payment method; they are not automatic and are not issued through this website. Failing to appear without formally withdrawing is a no-show: no refund is due, it is recorded in your player record, and it may affect your eligibility in future years.

The qualifier has its own fee and its own no-penalty and no-refund dates, published with qualifier registration.

7. The qualifier

Qualifier entry is open and first-come, first-served up to a published cap. Once the cap is reached, registrations join a waitlist in order. If a paid registrant withdraws, the next person on the waitlist is offered the place and notified. Waitlisted registrants are not charged unless and until they are moved into the field. The number of players who advance from the qualifier into the tournament field is determined by the Tournament each year and announced after the qualifier is played.

8. Sponsorships

Sponsorships are subject to approval and availability. Tiers have limited inventory and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis; a tier that sells out is closed. The benefits attached to each tier are those described at the time of purchase.

If you provide a logo, artwork, company name, or other material, you confirm that you have the right to use it and you grant us a non-exclusive license to display and reproduce it on this site and in tournament materials for the year or years your sponsorship covers. We may decline any sponsorship, and we may decline or remove any material we consider unsuitable.

Sponsorship fees are generally non-refundable once benefits have begun to be delivered. Any refund is at the Tournament's discretion.

9. Conduct and rules of play

Play is governed by the Rules of Golf as adopted by the USGA, together with any local rules, conditions of competition, and hard cards in effect, and the rules and dress code of the host club. The Tournament Committee's rulings are final. We may disqualify, remove, or decline future entry to anyone whose conduct is disruptive, unsportsmanlike, or in breach of the rules or club policies, without refund.

10. Assumption of risk

Golf involves inherent risks, including being struck by a ball or club, contact with course hazards and wildlife, weather, and physical exertion. You participate at your own risk and are responsible for your own health, safety, insurance, equipment, and personal property.

11. Name, image, and results

By applying, registering, or competing, you grant the Tournament and [Snee Farm Country Club] permission to use your name, city and state, club affiliation, photograph, video, likeness, and scoring information in connection with the tournament — including the field list, pairings, live and final results, history pages, media releases, social media, and promotional material — without payment or further approval. This permission continues after the tournament so that historical records remain complete.

12. Site content

The Rice Planters Amateur name, logo, and the content of this site are owned by the Tournament or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse them without our written permission, other than normal personal viewing and sharing.

13. Acceptable use

You agree not to attempt to access another person's application, invitation, payment link, or account; not to scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data from this site; not to interfere with the site's operation or security; and not to submit malicious code, spam, or fraudulent payment information.

15. Changes to the tournament

Dates, fees, field size, format, entry criteria, exemption categories, and the qualifier structure may change. We may postpone, shorten, or cancel any part of the tournament for weather, course conditions, safety, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control, and we will publish any refund arrangements that apply if we do.

16. Availability of this site

This site is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption or free of errors. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it.

17. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, with respect to this site and the tournament.

18. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Tournament, the host club, and their respective officers, directors, staff, committee members, and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of this site or your participation in the tournament. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in connection with that claim.

19. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Tournament and the host club from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of this site, or your conduct at the tournament.

20. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Charleston County, South Carolina.

21. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The revised version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date, and it applies to your use of the site from that point forward.

22. Contact
